- The Panel will define key website requirements to clearly establish project constraints, including:
- If a website is required or optional?
- If a website will be the sole outlet for the research results or a complimentary feature to the traditional printed deliverable?
- Which of the following website types is appropriate for the research topic and objective:
- Research Report
- Resource Library – Documents
- Resource Library – Video Training
- Others (allow for alternatives to be proposed based on problem statement considerations)
- A combination, hybrid, of the above
- A concept for a new type
- Other website features (beyond the general functionality of the WordPress platform) should/could be considered.

Proposal Development

- Research Teams proposing to develop a website as a deliverable for an ACRP research project must thoroughly understand the WordPress environment:
- Review the ACRP WebResource Overview to understand the templates currently available in the WordPress environment.
- Review the ACRP WebResource Technical Implementation Instructions to understand the technical skills and level of effort required to develop a site in the WordPress environment.
- Research Teams proposing to develop a website as a deliverable for an ACRP research project must thoroughly describe the following key elements in their proposals:
- Envisioned Content / Format – Provide a description of the type of website being proposed and summarize the basis for why this format is the appropriate choice for the subject research.
- Resource Library – Define the types of documents that will be included, the anticipated scope, and the anticipated source (embedded files, external reference, or both).
- Training – Define the type of training (web-based, instructor led, video, or other) and the anticipated quantity of courses.
- Research Report – Describe the anticipated content structure and navigation
- Other – If a template other than those currently provided is being proposed, provide a wireframe design with thorough explanation of the content structure, navigation, and functionality.
- Personnel Skills / Talent – Describe the technical resources and skills that are required to develop the website to be implemented.
- Approach – Describe the approach to developing the website as part of the overall research project.
- Cost – Describe the anticipated breakdown of costs and man-hours for website content development.
- Testing Plan – Describe the testing plan that will be implemented to ensure desired website functionality.
- Envisioned Content / Format – Provide a description of the type of website being proposed and summarize the basis for why this format is the appropriate choice for the subject research.
Proposal Review, Evaluation, and Selection

- The Panel will first review and evaluate the received proposals in light of the expectations/ requirements set forth in the RFP. This includes especially, but is not limited to, how each proposal has addressed these main criteria:

- Based on the evaluations, the Panel will select the Research Team.

- The Panel will review the Amplified Work Plan focusing especially, but not exclusively, on how the Research Team has addressed / incorporated all proposal feedback comments provided by the Panel during the Proposal Review, Evaluation, and Selection phase.
- The Panel will provide a final set of feedback comments for the Research Team to address in preparation for the Kick-off meeting.
Kick-Off

- SPO and Panel conduct a kick-off meeting with the Research Team.
- During this meeting, the Research Team will discuss and present:
- how the feedback comments have been incorporated
- the details of the planned research effort as outlined in the AWP.
- The Panel will provide insight to specific expectation regarding the project objective.
- The goal of the meeting is the acceptance of the Amplified Work Plan with the green light to commence with project execution.
Technical Coordination

- The SPO will establish the coordination point between the Research Team and the WordPress point of contact, and will communicate clearly the scope of engagement between the two parties and the role the SPO plays as part of this collaboration.
Research for Content & Website Design

- At this time of the project, the Research Team will execute the Amplified Work Plan and start conducting the research to develop content for the website.
- This effort will also include the development of various deliverables related to website development. Depending on the nature of the project, additional deliverables may be required.
- Site Architecture:
- Sitemap that provides the structure and navigation of all the key pages in the site. The Sitemap should identify he relationships between the main website areas in sufficient detail for the Panel to understand how the end-user with use the website.
- Wireframe that presents how the content will appear on each page. The Wireframe does not need to include actual content or graphics, but should identify the individual templates that are intended to be used.
- Website Demonstration:
- Demonstration of the website to the Panel.
- The demonstration may be presented via web-conference or included in a face-to-face Interim Report Meeting.
- Site Architecture:
Reporting and Review of Content

- In addition to the Site Architecture and Website Demonstration deliverables mentioned in the previous step, the Research Team will be expected to provide at least the following deliverables. Depending on the nature of the project, additional deliverables may be required.
- Monthly and Quarterly Status Reports that specifically address the Research Team’s progress and next steps on the website planning, design, and technical implementation aspects.
- Interim Report, which should provide the progress updates expected of a typical ACRP project.
- The SPO will provide feedback comments to these deliverables.
- The Research Team must respond to all these comments thoroughly and include detail of how the Research Team will implement the necessary changes.
Developing and Publishing Website

Development activities for each WebResource site must not include the following key features:
- Account management or log in features since ACRP’s WebResources does not require user accounts to access each WebResource subsite.
- Provide users a way to commit or write data to the database.
- NOTE: data can be manipulated within the browser session where the data is cleared once the browser is closed.
