After completing Step 7, you should have a vision for integrating social media with emergency management (SMEM), as well as goals and objectives that you and your community have agreed upon. With those in mind, ask yourself: what level of integration do you need? What resources do you have available to implement and sustain the integration? This step introduces the three levels of integration for four functions of social media (SM) management (introduced in Step 1 of this WebResource), in the following parts:

• Define the Integration Level (basic, intermediate, complete)
• Determine the Social Media Management Functions You Will Integrate (listening, engaging, publishing, reporting)

Keep in mind that even if you start out at a basic level, you can revisit this step as you become more adept and obtain new skills and SM management tools. This step defines where you want to go now, but your vision will guide you to where you ultimately want to be.
