Monitor Mileage and Financial Data Dashboards (51)

Description:

The ongoing monitoring of incoming mileage and financial data involves observing any trends and following up if anything unusual occurs. This process also includes making regular improvements to the data display/dashboard.

Details:

As the implementing RUC agency, it is important to review the data display/dashboard whenever new data arrive (weekly or monthly review of data should be sufficient). The dashboard tracks trends on all major metrics. Review these trends, and investigate if any unexpected or unusual trends occur. Follow major metrics derived from the evaluation plan and include miles (including in-state public road chargeable and non-chargeable, if applicable), dollars, vehicles enrolled, vehicles actively reporting data, and any device errors or events, as appropriate.

Primary Use:

Regularly monitor data.

Best Practices/Lessons Learned:

  • Vehicle enrollments and activations are likely the most useful data to observe at the start of a program.
  • Revenue dollars should be proportionate to miles driven. However, in certain scenarios, some miles may not be charged. These scenarios may include out-of-state miles, or miles driven by individuals who are not yet eligible for the program but will become eligible when their vehicle registration renews.
  • Track metrics individually by vehicle type, if appropriate.
