Land Use Outreach Tools

In addition to the planning and legal tools which are used to establish and protect compatible land uses, other planning tools and techniques can be used at your airport that are focused on the education and outreach to the local community. Successful public education and outreach programs are important elements to prevent the encroachment of incompatible land uses upon your airport environs. Los Angeles County ALUC Website The ALUC’s mission is to help minimize the public’s exposure to excessive noise and safety hazards within areas around public airports. The ALUC aims to coordinate airport land use compatibility planning efforts, prepare and adopt a compatibility plan for each public-use airport in the Los Angeles area and review plans, regulations and other actions of local agencies and airport operators.
