2017Abstract
As a result of successful collaboration with the aviation industry, the TSA is proud to announce the issuance of the revised Planning Guidelines and Design Standards (PGDS) for Checked Baggage Inspection Systems Version 6.0. The TSA prepared PGDS Version 1.0 as part of the Baggage Screening Investment Study (BSIS), in consultation with the aviation industry during 2006, and published it in October 2007. Since then, the TSA has completed several rounds of review processes in which industry comments and follow-on PGDS studies were incorporated and published in subsequent Versions 2.0, 3.0, 4.0, and 4.1, 4.2 and 5.0.
