Lighting a Showcase Airline Terminal

The lighting system design for the Terminal 4 building at JFK International Airport in New York City is discussed. The requirements for the lighting project involves the fixture layouts that will not only define the large interior spaces while directing people through the terminal, but also maximize energy efficiency with the least maintenance. The innovative lighting systems for achieving special effects, like casting and projections, are also discussed.
