Designing a New Wayfinding System at SXF Berlin Brandenburg Airport: Creating a More User-Friendly Airport

Abstract

A wayfinding system at SXF Berlin Brandenburg Airport was designed to make the airport more user friendly, to give users the feeling of order and security, and reflect a more caring, modern, and up-to-date airport. Elements like the re-brand in the terminal, colors from the color palette, typography and graphic elements such as arrows and planes are also introduced. Wayfinding elements introduced early in the journey to the airport create a feeling of harmony and familiarity through consistency in sign colors relevant to the airport visitors.
