Community Level

Moped/scooter safety intervention at the community level focuses on societal factors and settings that could prevent/reduce risky behavior and promote safe riding behaviors. Specific settings such as college campuses and sightseeing locations with scooter rental shops can be used to promote moped/scooter safety effectively when the setting’s unique characteristics are reflected in intervention program development and implementation processes. In particular, online communities are known as effective settings to reach younger riders. Social media marketing activities and communication within online rider groups can be utilized at this level.
