The research underlying this WebResource was focused on this kind of program, which includes traffic safety citizenship, <a class=\"glossaryLink\"  aria-describedby=\"tt\"  data-cmtooltip=\"&lt;div class=glossaryItemTitle&gt;Safety culture&lt;\/div&gt;&lt;div class=glossaryItemBody&gt;&amp;lt;!-- wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;Shared employee values, beliefs, and assumptions about safety in an organization that are largely subconscious (based on definitions of organizational culture from Pettigrew, 1979; Schein, 1992). Guldenmund (2000) defined safety culture as &amp;quot;those aspects of the organizational culture which will impact on attitudes and behaviour related to increasing or decreasing risk&rdquo; (p. 251). The term safety culture is used much more frequently than safety climate in research and practice; however, survey measures administered tend to align more closely with the definition of safety climate than safety culture.&amp;lt;br\/&amp;gt;&amp;lt;!-- \/wp:paragraph --&amp;gt;&lt;\/div&gt;\"  href=\"https:\/\/crp.trb.org\/btscrpwebresource1\/glossary\/safety-culture\/\"  data-gt-translate-attributes='[{\"attribute\":\"data-cmtooltip\", \"format\":\"html\"}]'  tabindex='0' role='link'>safety culture<\/a> and climate, and incentives for workers who operate motor vehicles for any part of their job duties. Further, these programs are defined as safety programs or training made available by employers for employees who drive as their primary job function or a part of their job.
