« Back to Glossary Index

An ongoing organizational initiative designed to reduce the risk of an employee being in a road accident, reduce the severity of an injury if a collision occurs, or improve driver safety while driving for work. The research underlying this WebResource was focused on this kind of program, which includes traffic safety citizenship, safety culture and climate, and incentives for workers who operate motor vehicles for any part of their job duties. Further, these programs are defined as safety programs or training made available by employers for employees who drive as their primary job function or a part of their job. In the WebResource, these programs are sometimes referred to as “safety programs.”
