Reflection on Your Analytics Capabilities

Evaluating the data and analytics practices currently in use at your airport can provide you with an estimate of where your organization is in terms of its analytics maturity. These questions reflect best practices at increasing levels of analytics maturity. You can use these results to reflect on current strengths and find opportunities to advance your maturity. Airports very early in their analytics formation may be gathering information and conducting basic descriptive analysis while exploring some of the ways that they can use their data more effectively. Airports at more intermediate to advanced stages in their analytics journey can use the following key as a guide:

Transition to Localized Analytics, if you answered ‘no’ to one or more of questions 1, 2, 3, or 4.
Transition to Aspirational Analytics, if you answered ‘no’ to questions 5 and/or 6.
Transition to Analytics Organization, if you answered ‘no’ to questions 7 and 8.
Transition to Analytics Competitor, if you answered ‘no’ to question 9 and 10.

The highest level of maturity, the Analytics Competitors, are characterized by their distinctive analytics capabilities that are deployed enterprise-wide, with a commitment by senior management to expand their data resources and deploy innovative analytics techniques, for an ambitious program in a competitive business environment.
