The research team performed 8 case studies with U.S. and global airports (7 in the United States and 1 in Germany). The case study sites were chosen to represent the wide variation of airport types covered in the interviews also conducted by the research team. These include large and small, connecting and non-connecting, all with varying levels of common use, ranging from very little to very holistic. The team interviewed members from different levels and departments at each of the airports to acquire a full view of how common use is currently impacting the airport environment and, in most cases, took a hands-on tour of the facilities. Additionally, TSA, CBP, and airline representatives at these airports were interviewed. The following links provide a summary of each of these airport case studies.
