State Airport System Plans<\/h1>\n

States also participate in the planning process by publishing statewide airport or aviation system plans. Normally, all public-use airports in a state are included in the state system plan regardless of their NPIAS<\/span><\/attr> status, and occasionally private-use airports are also included. Because state system plans seek to describe the roles of airports at the state level, states often create their own classification system separate from the NPIAS<\/span><\/attr> or ASSET designations. Each state plan is unique and offers information tailored to the uses of aviation in that state.<\/p>\n

State aviation system plans are normally administered by a division or office of aeronautics\/aviation through a state agency, often the DOT<\/span><\/attr>.
