Provide Environmental Training Opportunities to Meet Legal Requirements and Support Environmental Objectives

Training events are a way for staff to stay informed about current requirements and best practices related to environmental topics. Many environmental training opportunities are available to airport operators and their staff to assist with environmental resource management and regulatory compliance. Regular training is provided by FAA, AAAE, and environmental resource agencies, such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of the Interior, and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

The resources provided below will help you identify and connect with training opportunities and informational resources. Staff participation in training activities can be newsworthy, and notice of environmental training efforts by airport staff can be an effective means to build community support. When training events take place, a press release or communication through social media may be effective. If appropriate, the local media can be invited to attend.
